yes did you know that in Giambattista Basile's version of the fairytale her name is Talia? And that she has 2 kids: Sole and Luna? In Charles Perrault's version the princess doen't have a name but her children are Aurore(!!!) and Jour.
Believe it or not, Tchaikovsky was the one who first applied the name Aurora to the princess in his ballet version of Sleeping Beauty. In the Brothers Grimm version, the princess is named Briar Rose. (In one illustration set I did for Perrault's version, I named the princess Eloise.) Basically if you see Sleeping Beauty with a name besides Aurora, Briar Rose, or Talia, the person writing it probably has Perrault in mind.
